First WoW Tournament in China
The 2006 WSVG is currently underway in Wuhan, China and will include the very first prize-money tournament for World Of Warcraft. The entire event boasts a $50,000 prize pool spread across three games. CS1.6, WoW and WC3 are the official games of the first stop in the 2007 World Series of Video Games events.
I will be providing an exclusive LIVE coverage as best as I can. There are two North American and one European Team participating in this tournament. Team Pandemic and MoB Turtle Power both are vying the first place, but Fnatic (ex Quake pros) will not watch in defeat. The Chinese have yet to play TBC, and have had very limited contact with any new content, so I'm not too sure if they're actually qualified to play in this tournament. I would be thoroughly surprised if they manage to perform well.
My latest data suggests that there are 64 teams in total - 2 NA, 1 EU, 61 Chinese. The Prize rewards are as follows:
1st $9,000 *
2nd $4,500 *
3rd $3,000 *
4th $2,400 *
5th $500
6th $500
7th $300
8th $300
* Also receive $3,000 Travel Stipend
